Tip #5 The Easiest Way to Lose, Maintain, and Prevent Fat Gain

Hey Fit Fam, My name is Justin Williams but I like to go by Jdub. I’m the Director of Shipping and Deliveries here at MyFitFoods. I think this tip this week is one of the best ones for maintaining and keeping off the LB’s.

Most people are going to be able to hit the gym, gym as Megan calls it, but the one thing we can all do every day is being active and just about everybody can walk.

Fit Fact Fam… 8k+ steps daily helps regulate appetite, burns an extra 300 calories per day, and solidifies a strong fitness routine. A pound of fat is 3500 calories, so every 11 days you could lose or prevent a pound of fat, just from walking. Fitness Snizacks rock.

Stepping it out is also a form of active recovery and meditation. Movement energizes you and keeps your body operating at peak levels. Are you feeling tired reading this? Get up and get to stepping, after 3 minutes I promise you’ll feel better.!

The average bear only gets about 3-4k steps a day or about 1-1.5 miles. This inactivity juuuuuust might be a reason we slowly gain weight.

8,000 steps daily is a good start. The next step (pun definitely intended) is 10-12k+ steps per day. This seems to be the sweet spot for losing weight and/or maintaining fat loss.

Walking is an easy way to get fit, stay fit, and it’s free fifty free.

10 minutes of walking is about 1,000 steps. Here are more ways of the STEP

  • Parking in the back of the lot (+500 extra steps)
  • 10 flights of stairs a day (Buns of Steel) (+200 extra steps)
  • 20 mins walk after lunch (digestion) (+2000 extra steps)
  • Two desk breaks a day to walk 5 mins (+1000 extra steps)
  • 30-60 minute walk when you get home (+3k-6k extra steps)
  • Talk and walk on conference calls or with friends (+5k steps)

Remember, lasting results come from solid habits. So step, step, step it out!
